  • 750 meters
  • 02m 29s / 100 meters
Comments:

Well, I realized after 3/4 of the swim I wasn't catching the water. I was all arms, well one arm any way. I also noticed I wasn't even turning my left hip probably the reason I've been going right all the time. It made me realize it's exactly what I did last week and at my first give-it-a-tri.
I guess the catch is not second nature yet.
What would you do differently?:

Need more practice

What would you do differently?:

Bike
  • 1h 08m 56s
  • 20.51 miles
  • 17.85 mile/hr
Comments:

Had good ride. Unfortunately I was being passed a lot so I had to stay on the rough stuff for most of ride, not fun. I kept good pace, worked th hills very well. I was not sure what kind of pace I was going to have because of the unknown hills, so aimed for 17mph average. I scored an 18.1, so am very happy.
What would you do differently?:

Need more work, work, work.
Transition 2
  • 01m 10s
Comments:

Lost my rack again.
Run
  • 33m 1s
  • 4.35 miles
  • 07m 35s  min/mile
Comments:

Good run, controlled cramps before they became to painfull. Good easy start and gradualy increased passed. Once I got to good pace I started the mental battle. I started repeating a stupid verse from song I don't even know the words, and this helped me keep my pace and fight through the pain thoughts. It worked. (I read this from the triathlete mag August issue) I was aiming for 8 minute pace and got 7:49 average. Very happy.
What would you do differently?:

Try a faster pace
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around got some food and get out of wet clothes.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Consistency in training.

Well done Syl!  Really impressive run... maybe you and I could exchange run / swim legs sometime :-)  Time to start thinking about OLY.
