Comments:

pretty good. could be better. shoes were a bit harder to get on that I would like. overall all good
Run
  • 1h 01m 24s
  • 6.2 miles
  • 09m 54s  min/mile
Comments:

had to stop and use porto potty, so lost a couple minutes there. strategy was to just keep running at a conservative pace and keep as cool as possible. realy started to heat up near 90 for the run. first few miles felt pretty good. dump water on head and swish out mouth. last few the heat started to get me and struggled it in. kept up positive thoughts. last .2 was hardest.
pretty neat to had isis cheering me on at the chute. she beat me by 5 minutes! pretty cool!
What would you do differently?:

do more bricks
Post race
Warm down:

spent quite a bit of time in shade of tent at finish to cool down. cold water felt good. wish they had watermelon and gatordade (heed just sucks)at the finish. watched opther BTers come in. hung out in BT tent (thank you joe!!) and chatted with all the great BTers who ran race! great to see everyone. kudos to isis for bagging 1st in AG, and tri-again for raceing with less tha ususal training. and a special shout out to DK who arranged a great BT get together the night before!!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

training plan, bricks, better bike. lose 10 lbs.

Nice work out there Glen!

I'm sure you're lacking of recent swimming didn't help your swim time at all.  Hopefully you can get some more swimming in before your next race.  Smart move on wearing the wetsuit as the water didn't seem nearly as warm as last year to me anyway.  I'm sure that helped your time.

Nice work on the bike.  That's a solid split.

It would have been nice if you could have waited to hit the bathroom after the race, but what are you gonna do.  It looks like you paced yourself pretty well, but it sure did get hot out there at the end.

Congrats on a great race!

Nice race Glen! It was nice to see you on the run course- next time I will try to keep up!  Sounds like a solid race with the training you had.  See you next year!
