Swim
Comments: Started closer to the buoys then normal but since I tend to drift to my right it worked out well. A few kicks to the mid section and a club to the head but other then that a pretty uneventful swim. What would you do differently?: nothing. Transition 1
Bike
Comments: Goal was to push the bike hard and see what happens on the run. Wind was blowing pretty good but only really noticed it during the 2-3 mile stretch coming back into town when you got the double whammy of a head wind and a terrible road. What would you do differently?: nothing - just about the same pace as last year but last year we didn't have 15-20 mph winds so I'll take it. Plus I rode 4 hours in the wind yesterday so legs were a bit tired. Transition 2
Run
Comments: goal was to try and hold a 7:30 pace. Just barely made it. I love this nice pancake flat run! Post race
Warm down: Grabbed a hot dog and some water and waited for my wife and friends to finish. My wife ended up finishing 3rd in her age group for her first ever podium finish! What limited your ability to perform faster: 4 hours of riding the day before. Last updated: 2010-08-09 12:00 AM
