Subject: Low back pain on the bike
Completed my second triathlon over the weekend (20k bike).  About 1/2 way through, my lower back was killing me!  I am not a great biker; I don't have a lot of biking experience and it is the worst part of my tri. I don't have the tri bars yet (is that what they are called? lol), just the curved bars that come standard on the road bike.  Anyway, I kept having to coast and stretch my back out during the last half of the bike.

Does anyone have any experience/advice with this?  THANK YOU!

The answer to most bike questions is : Time In The Saddle.

Is your "bike fit" correct?  IOW, the seat may be too high or low, you may be stretched too far out due to a stem that is too long....just to name two things.  There are lots of possible reasons you are experiencing lower back pain.  The best thing you can do for yourself is to get a professional bike fit.  It is not cheap but you need to have the bike set-up/sized correctly to fit you.
