Total Time = 1h 32m 13s
Overall Rank = 82/186
Age Group = 35-39 M
Age Group Rank = 7/12
Pre-race routine:

Stayed at the lodge and got up early to get over to the triathlon. It was my first time since I was 15 to do a triathlon so I wanted to give myself plenty of time. Got organized and setup my transition and talked with some of my fellow rack mates to discuss their experience in the past.
Event warmup:

Light stretching and some gatorade and a power bar.
Swim
  • 13m 14s
  • 820 yards
  • 01m 37s / 100 yards
Comments:

Course was suprisingly shallow as others have said. I would agree that it must have been short because my time surprised me out of the water, but it was a little incentive to keep going.
What would you do differently?:

More open water training.
Transition 1
  • 02m 58s
Comments:

I had practiced my transition a few times, but forgot that my back would be very wet and the shirt that I was wearing gave me a ton of trouble. I wasn't looking to win my age group, just to finish, so I wasn't too concerned.
What would you do differently?:

More actual water transition practice.
Bike
  • 48m 56s
  • 12.43 miles
  • 15.24 mile/hr
Comments:

I am still riding the same bike I had when I was 15. Gears on the down tube, steel and slightly (or really) undersized. It was nice to see a lot of really beautiful bikes, although I saw most of them as they passed me.
What would you do differently?:

More training, and definately need to invest in a new bike!
Transition 2
  • 00m 43s
Comments:

I ride in my running shoes since I don't have clip in shoes so my T2 is really fast. It was truely rack the bike and run.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing.
Run
  • 26m 20s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 08m 28s  min/mile
Comments:

Was surprised how good I felt going into the run and mentally being able to keep my legs moving.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing.
Post race
Warm down:

Water and a little food. Some stretching and watching some of my fellow rack mates coming through the finish line and congratulating them.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

My bike and the lack of training time. I only really prepared for about 3 weeks before the race.

Event comments:

Definately looking forward to continuing training and getting back into the tri scene. Thinking about Deer Creek, wishing I was able to do the Portage Lakes Tri (15 minutes from my house).
