Modern Medicine- funny story

Should I hijack the thread now or wait until I read the attachment?

Ya - the kind of typical stuff I am used to hearing from people who refuse to participate in double blind studies. The only kind of valid evidence to the people who disseminate stories like this is anecdotal evidence. The real effort though is to make science and scientists seem like frauds. Not surprisingly these stories are often spread by "medical professionals" who have never seen the inside of a mainstream medical school and probably wouldn't make it through the first chapter of Grey's.Inevitably naturopathy and "holistic medicine" will grow especially when the president of the US actually refers to researchers as eggheads.

I have several friends who fall into this category and they tell me (a diabetic) that there is no such thing as diabetes. It was at its worse when they insisted during my wifes cancer treatment that cancer wasn't really a problem all you have to do is bring your blood to an alkaline level and the cancer would disappear from my wifes system forever. What amazes me is with all of these cures that have been around for thousands of years how did things like diabetes, cancer, parkinsons, AIDS etcetera ever become a problem at all? They should have been been wiped off the face of the planet centuries ago by the people who today claim that modern medical science is keeping the truth from the people in order to make the pharmeceutical companies rich. Mouth breathers everywhere have opinions, apparently they can copy an paste as well.
