As anyone who has seen my sig knows I run a comedy website (one of about 14 sites I manage) and this is kind of crunch week for me because the biggest and best comedy festival is going full bore in Montreal right now the Festival Just For Laughs. I saw Tommy Tiernan last night and his one man show was awesome - just relentless laughter. Tonight I saw Three Blonde Moms which was a hoot but needs some polish. The one man show Bigger Than Jesus was mind boggling but destined to probably stay north of the mason dixon.

Anyway I just thought I would throw out there the names of some of my favourite comedy choices for those of you who enjoy comedy. These aren't necessarily my all time favourites just stuff I think deserves a listen.

10 - Nothing Sacred the new book by Lewis Black is well worth the read
9 - Made You Laugh - A great history of comedy for those who like histories and comedy fans.
8 - A Big Steaming Pile Of Me - Richard Jeni DVD - one of the most reliable funny men working
7 - Inside The Male Intellect - Richard Dubac
6 - Bootleg I & Bootleg II - Ron Shock next to Cosby the best story teller working in comedy.
5 - Lock The Door - Jeff Allen - Born again christian and a rock solid clean stand-up
4 - Dignity Under Duress - Maryellen Hooper, one of the funniest women working the stan-up circuit.
3 - Just Running My Mouth - Caroline Picard - She works very blue with language that could make a sailor blush.
2 - Bill Cosby is a very funny fellow. Right? - Bill Cosby - the Noah track alone justifies this CD.
1 - To Russell, My Brother, Whom I Slept With - This is the definitive Cosby CD. If you own no other comedy CDs number 1 & 2 should be on your list.

Always interested in hearing what other people are listening to comedy wise.

I second the Richard Jeni suggestion.  I saw him live once and I can still remember some of his material...namely the fact that the theme song from the National Geographic Television show will cancel out any other song that's stuck in your head.  So, when I get the latest boy-band's song wedged in there, I still know how to get it out!

Wookiee

Thanks for the tips. I LOVE comedy and am always looking for suggestions.

I actually spoke to Lewis Black the other day in NYC. (Ran into him on an elevator.) Told him I loved his stuff. Like most, his "overnight success" was prepared by years of work...LOL.

I've enjoyed Jeni for years and his new show is great.

Thanks again!
