Horrible panic attack during the first half of the swim. wasn't able to put my head in the water until the half way marker. i actually had to hold onto 2 different life guards. once i settled down i was able to start swimming for real but had a hard time keeping on course.
What would you do differently?:

i really needed some time training in the ocean, i had zero OWS in my training.

i was pretty tired coming out of the water and took me a min to catch my breath and get some fluids in me. over all felt like a decent time. i never tried practicing transitions.

i felt really good on the bike but might have over done it a little bit. also areo water bottle would have been nice as i would have been able to get a little more water in me.

i had never ran after a ride and it was crazy. i couldn't get my legs to move. once i got about a half mile in i was able to get my legs moving, but then the cramps started. had some weird cramps in my sides and then they moved to me lower stomach. once i hit the 1.5 mile mark i was able to run at my normal stride----slow :)
i had to walk twice to get better air and try to get rid of the cramps.

Brother, OWS training helps out a bunch (even if you're deathly afraid of sharks, like me).  If you're interested in doing the Turkey Tri in November and need a swimming buddy give me a call.
