Comments: Felt really good up to about mile 23, and that's when it became a battle, but by that point I knew as long as I kept moving I would finish. My goal was to be under 3:30 and I made it, so I am happy! What would you do differently?: Ease up on the pace earlier in the race. I should have stayed with the 3:20 pacer. Post race
Warm down: Try to stay upright. Limp around, try to stretch. What limited your ability to perform faster: More marathon focused training. Most of the summer was spent focusing on triathlon training, and other than making sure I got the long distance marathon training runs in, I wasn't really following any marathon training plan. Event comments: Had a great time. It was nice to race at home for my first marathon. My wife and her family, along with a friend did the marathon relay, so I had supporters along the way. My sister-in-law and her friend ran me in which was a big help because I was really hurting at that point. Also had a good friend who helped me train and was a half-marathon pacer right there at the end. Last updated: 2010-09-14 12:00 AM

This being my first marathon, there was no routine. Got up ate a banana and peanut butter sandwich. Used the foam roller, and got the kids out of bed and over to my father-in-law.
Not much time for warm-up, the bridge was backed-up. Jogged maybe 300 yds and did very little stretching.
