Event warmup:

None.
Swim
  • 26m 12s
  • 1640 yards
  • 01m 36s / 100 yards
Comments:

My stroke rate was too fast. I could feel my pull slipping. I kept with my draftee for the whole swim. It was very crowded. Again, I think the course was short.
What would you do differently?:

Practice more sprinting swims instead of slow and easy
Transition 1
  • 00m
Comments:

T1 time included in bike time. I did very well in this transition.
What would you do differently?:

I think I executed this transition very well. No changes.
Bike
  • 1h 37m 4s
  • 24.85 miles
  • 15.36 mile/hr
Comments:

Bike continues to be a struggle for me. Add in hills like this, and it is even worse.
What would you do differently?:

I need to do some more strength training and hilly rides.
Transition 2
  • 00m
Comments:

T2 time included in bike. Again, practice payed off. I executed this transition very well.
What would you do differently?:

No change
Run
  • 50m 50s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 08m 11s  min/mile
Comments:

I struggled up the hill both times. I had to walk/run. My calves were on fire.
What would you do differently?:

More strength training and hills during my running
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around and drank Gatorade G3.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Lack of strength on hills

Event comments:

This was a hard race. I was not prepared for the number of hills encountered.

It was a much harder course than Mountain Man.  I was luckly to have been in better shape for this one though.
