Palm Beach 1/2 Marathon. I did it!!! On top of that I met my goals of under 2:15 and of beating Robert ;) Gun Time when I crossed was 2:11:59, Chip time 2:11:43. I did a mad dash sprint at the end to stay under 2:12. Psychological barrier staying under a certain number really, no real value to it. I felt really good health-wise - no knee pain, no ankle pain, NO SIDE STITCHES!!! I kept a good pace, under 10/mi until about mile 8 which I am real impressed with myself for. Considering my prior long run was 10.5, and only 2 8 milers other than that, I'm super happy with my day. Yes, breaking 2hr would have been nice, but when at the 1/2 way point and being at 1 hr, I knew there was no way to sustain my pace for the 2nd half, no accelerate and make up lost time. I did meet a goal of no walks (other than during h2o breaks) and 1 bathroom stop at mile 5.25 (had to, it helped make the run more pleasant). Last 3 miles were really hard, esp mile 13. I really wanted to turn up the speed but there wasn't much gas left in the tank and it was my slowest mile of all - 11:47 :( I did manage a little spped to cross the finish, but I had to really push to get that out.
