Pre-race routine:

Ate a granola bar, panicked, and walked around downtown until race start.
Event warmup:

None.
Run
  • 2h 02m 30s
  • 13.1 miles
  • 09m 21s  min/mile
Comments:

The first eight miles were fine, and I ran closer to 8:30s. The last five were boring and started to get painful, then I hit a wall around mile 11.
What would you do differently?:

I should have kept track of my split times better...I definitely started out too fast. I should have planned to eat something, too.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around downtown, drank coffee and ate orange slices, then headed home.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I should have planned for nutrition during the race, but this was my first half marathon. I was running to get used to the distance, not for time.

Event comments:

Great race - well organized and lots of volunteers. No awards, but the entry fee was free!
