Subject: where to stay for Chattanooga Tri?
Can someone give me suggestions of where to stay for the Chattanooga Waterfront Triathlon?? I have signed up and want to go ahead and book reservations but am not familiar with the area and want the most convenient/affordable hotel I can find. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Anything right around the aquarium is within walking distance to the transition.  I think those are the most convenient hotels.

We stayed @ Residance Inn, 1.5 blocks from transision, perfect. Nice little kitchen in room so you can bring your own food.

We used to stay at the Residence Inn or Fairfield - the Residence is a better deal though!

When I travel to Chattanooga for work, I have stayed at the Residence Inn right by the Aquarium.  Like others have said, it has a kitchen, larger rooms (for the family) and serve breakfast and 'dinner' for free.

Hi,

Last year we stayed at the Marriott Convention Center by accident (we thought we were getting the one downtown at the race site).  It turned out to be a huge nice hotel will a big pool on the roof and another pool inside.  If you have kiddos and need a pool, I think its way better than the marriott that is at the transition site because all that one has is a tiny indoor pool.  There was a tram to downtown that was fun and easy to use.  Race morning we were able (two years in a row) to find parking near transition no problem.

You didnt ask but for anyone reading this...i cant say enough how much we have loved this race two years in a row.  Its perfect if you have a family.  There is just tons for the kids to do...great restaurants that are classy but kid friendly...We stayed at the choo choo our first year which was fun but expensive and the pool is a 1970's liability nightmare if your kids arent extremely good swimmers....

The bike course is a blast...How often do you get to ride on a freeway???  The swim is with a current and the run is interesting....This is just a really cool race!
