Pre-race routine:

Didn't really have one! Turned up, in the foul weather, half expecting it to be cancelled, but there we all were, intrepid chickies that we are!
Event warmup:

Aerobics-style warm up, led by one of the organisers. Cool fun. Quite surreal though, grooving on down in the torrential rain...

This was my first open water swim and my first time in the 'washing machine'. I was jyst fine! I was pretty pleased about that.

Everything had gotten drenched because the top had come off of my plastic box. Socks were sodden and hard to put on.

Someone next to me had racked their bike in my space a bit, in their hurry to get out. It was a bit of a downer because I had to grapple with their bike as well as my own, but all good in the end.

I felt good, but I had mad cramp in my right calf muscle, so I had to walk a few times to try and stretch it out. But, overall it was really good.
What would you do differently?:

Go faster!

Warm down:

Put a sweater on! Highly technical! Then took all my stuff back to the car, came back to the course finish to cheer on the last lady to get in, and then had a hot chocolate!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

General fatness and 2 weeks of bronchitis. I'll be better for the next one.
