Comments: Yeah. I don't know. I did not train that hard for this, so I guess it makes sense that I missed by goal by a lot. I felt great the whole race- no issues whatsoever- other than some chafing on my arms and the usual sore feet and ankles. What would you do differently?: Train more, but I felt like this was the easiest 13.1 I've done yet. I am glad it's done, but I'm looking forward to doing more. Post race
Warm down: Met Matt and Kate @ the finish (Kate did 1:55, Matt did 1:47)!!! Went to Longboards Bar for brunch and Bloody Mary's! What limited your ability to perform faster: Not training hard enough, other than that I think I executed perfectly. I also need to drop 15 lbs. I feel fat, and look it too. Event comments: Loved this race- I want to do it again! The course was amazing and the whole weekend was unforgettable. It was awesome to hang with Kate and her brother and sister-in-law all weekend. Up @ 6. One coffee, one yogurt, and two pieces of toast. Rode the beach cruisers down from Matt and Kristin's place to the beach. Felt really well rested and ready to go.
Enough time to drop off gear, have some water and a little coffee. Stretched out and felt great- the bike ride down to the beach was a perfect warm-up. It was pretty foggy and chilly on the coast, so warming up was challenging.
