I was surprised at the amount of people cheering at several different times during the race. Mile 18 was crazy! Very cool. My run went great until mile 25, at that point my mind caught up to me and I started to feel the pain in my legs. The last mile was LOOONG.

I slowed down by about 30 - 45 seconds pace too early. I should have stuck to my pacing plan, which would have led me closer to my 3:30 time. I figured that a 3:30 was a perfect race, 3:45 was acceptable (being my first mary) and a 3:50 meant that pain was present and a 4:00+ meant that I dropped the ball.

My amino supps got wet and I couldn't even get them out of my pocket. Need to put them in a container or something. Should have pushed through the pain, but after the finish line I was truly spent.

First marathon.


Great venue! Lots of volunteers at each aid station and lots of spectators.
