Pre-race routine:

Got up at 0430 without an alarm... made oatmeal.. showered and shaved... dressed for the race. I had a cup of joe before we departed... let my son eat the oatmeal as my stomach was cranking from the mexican food from the night before.
Event warmup:

Sat in my truck eating a Peanut Butter Crunch Clif bar and drank a bottle of water while we watched the driving rains come down around us!

Comments:

Easy transition.... change of shoes and helmet on!
What would you do differently?:

Get my left cleat hooked in quicker... that slowed me down!

Continue to work on pedal technique!

Comments:

Legs were heavy on the start but pacing was good... strong finish to avoid being overtaken. HRM was giving erratic readings.
What would you do differently?:

Push harder and run at LT for stronger finish.
Post race
Warm down:

Hot shower, Fluid recovery drink.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Weather was a huge factor!

Event comments:

They did a great job taking care of the kids that did the Kids Duathlon... which my son won overall male... and an iPod Touch! Results were not available because the timing devices were taken out by the driving rain. All information came from my Garmin 405 and bike computer!
