Roll call for Parris Island.

Anybody going to start their year there?

My wife and I are both signed up. Looking forward to a nice weekend.

Peter,

It will be the start of the season for me. Year will evolve around:

Parris Island, St. Anthonys, Cancun 70.3 and IMFL.

See you in less than two weeks!!!

I'm skipping Parris Island this year mainly because its too long of a drive for me.  Lame excuse, I know.  I'll be doing Downtown Columbia tri to kick my season off, which I believe is the weekend after Parris Island.

I wish I could do it, but finances say otherwise.  It was my first ever, two years ago.  I'll get back there one year.

Have a great race Peter!

I wish. I like that area. I've got my first tri in Columbia, SC. Perhaps next year, Lord willing.

Best Wishes,

Sue

That sucks Jamie. I'm sorry to hear about the hamstring. It seems to be going around. My mentor "Slayer" is suffering with it right now. I took a little time off last week to ski. After the 2nd or 3rd day we were relaxing in a bar and my left ham string went into spasm. I jumped up from the chair and couldn't sit back down for about 5-10 minutes. It was extremely painful. If you are going through the same pain on a constant basis I feel really bad for you.

Sorry the rest of you are not going to make it. I really like the venue.

For anyone else going, make sure you have your drivers license, car registration and proof of insurance ready before you pull up to the gate.

Thanks Peter,

It happened playing football with a bunch of second graders..... I was told by the quarterback (my son) that I had to rush the ball for a touchdown, and I did! But for a big price.....

I love Parris Island, I like the venue, the atmosphere and obviously the people. But St. Anthony's is my first important race of the year and don't want to risk it. I'll try to run this week and see how it goes. It doesn't bother me riding or swimming.

Slayer is "Da Man" few guys more dedicated and inspiring than him. He most be going through hell with an injury...

Good luck to you at Parris Island, I'll let you know if I can make it.

Was the bike 13 miles last year? I'm noticing some times from fast guys that seem a little slow for ten miles.

I retract my previous post.    I'll be there.  Goal is to break an hour.  We shall see.

You may want to re-think that, gas is close to $4 a gallon.

Have a safe trip.

It looks like they have shortened the bike from 13 to 10 miles.

Peter, thanks for the maps.

I ran a 6.2 easy miles and hamstring didn't bother. Will try a tempo run on Wednesday and go from there.

I'll see you all Saturday!!!!

With the 10 mile bike, braking one hour will be doable. Off course I'm not talking about me Laughing

Well, I'm still itching from the darn sand fleas.  Couldn't have asked for a better day though.  Great way to start off the season.
