Ok, so I did the IronBac at Bronson Athletic Club in Kalamazoo.  20 minutes of everything.  For the swim I turned in 850m, the bike 6.13 miles, and the run 2.1 miles.  I feel pretty good about those for my first ever.

I will say the swim seemed to go on forever.  The lady counting my laps was like "Keep it up, 10 more minutes!" and I'm thinking in my head, "You gotta be f-ing kidding me, I'm only half way done?" haha.  The bike and the run went by pretty quickly, I think I may have turned the resistance too high on the bike towards the end because I was pretty gassed on the run.

Overall a great experience and I can't wait to do another one in 5 weeks and then get outside!

Good job and congrats.  You are in the same place I was last year.  I just started to learn how to front crawl swim 2 weeks before the indoor tri last year on Jan 24, 2010.  I swam 825 yards, biked about 6.5 miles, and ran about 2.3 miles.  I then started training more, did 3 outdoor Tri's last year.  I just did an indoor tri againlast month, this time did 1000 yards, biked 7.4 miles, and ran a little over 2.6 miles.  I have decided to tackle two HIM's this year.

The indoor tri last year, is what has motivated me, so keep up the good work.  For your first outdoor tri, make sure you swim in open water at least once or twice before the tri, take it easy, enjoy it, and then keep progressing!!

CONGRATULATIONS!  Knowing now that you are over by Kzoo, be sure to put The Shermanator (out at the Y) on your race calendar.  Nice short sprint, very well run and at a good price.

First weekend in August:  http://www.shermanlakeymca.org/shermanatortriathlon.php  I'll be in Kzoo for a golf outing that weekend that most likely mean I won't be racing it.

If you are looking for another tri over there, the last weekend in May is the Seahorse over at Coldwater:  http://www.3disciplines.com/events/may/seahorse-challenge  I did that one a few years ago.  Unless it is an insanely warm spring, like last year, you'll need a wetsuit for this one.  Air temp was barely 40 degrees the day I raced and the water was darn chilly.
