When you're in the Clydes weigh-in line and they say, "Oh, you're fine, you don't need to weigh-in".  Happens too frequently.  6'2" 240 @ 46 yrs.

You know you are an Athena when:

You show up at a Half Ironman race and the volunteer tells you
Volunteer:"Ma'am...Im sorry...you can't pick up someone else's packet...I need the athlete to pick up the packet"
Me: Ma'am I AM THE ATHLETE"
Volunteer: YOU?
Me: Yes Ma'am...its my 7th at this distance...

Yeah...Really

I'm 5'2" and my partner is 6'4".  We weigh the same...except that he has 5% body fat Undecided and climbs like a Schleck.

When someone accuses you of cheating because "your bike split can't possibly be that fast"

When you can bench press the weight of your AG's winner.  (true story!)

When you spend more time on the horns than in the aero bars in the beginning of the season due to too many Christmas cookies!

When on a climb the skinnies start gaining ground and are right on your wheel until you hit the crest and head downhill, and then its "goodbye to you" and your gone.

...you realize your backstroke is faster due to reduced drag.

...your bike seat is designed more for comfort than speed.

At the beginning of any group ride people call the spot behind you for the draft.

3. You get all excited while registering for a race online and seeing that the shirt sizes go up to XXL this time!

I totally get this too. Sometimes it makes me giddy.

I actually wrote to one race director to add XXL, as they had a clyde option. He very happily obliged Smile

When you can pinch flat properly inflated tires on a perfectly smooth road.

X2! I can't stop laughing, and yes, I've thought my tire was losing air only to find out once I got off of it that it was rock hard. It usually only happens about once a ride

You know you're a Clyde when the anesthetic nurse takes your blood pressure and pulse, looks at the results and then retakes BOTH of them because they surely can't be right. Then, looks at you and says "Is your heart rate always in the 40's?" I told her only when I'm at rest, I usually keep it around 140 when I'm running in zone 2.  I really got the impression she thought I was going to die.

you know when you are a clydesdale when you find a little kid running up to you in the run leg and saying 'run fat man, run' actually quite motivating.

You tell someone your doing a 1/2 Ironman and they laugh and say, "yeah right". Then you advise them you have already done a half Ironman and they say, "When"?

When the race director tells you "I'll stay until midnight if I have to.  I want to see you finish this thing!"  (true story)

When said race director, after the race, asks if they can do a write-up on you for the municipal newsletter.  (another true story)

You are constantly pulling your tri top down during the run to keep your gut from popping out

I have a fix for this - I do my tris in cycling bib shorts (minimal chamois) they come up high enough in the front to keep your gut under control.. tri top goes over the top.. you still have to pull it down, but at least there is no wobblys trying to escape Cool

When you're sitting on the beach waiting for your swim start and a group of people run up and start splashing water on you.

Seriously though when you blow past someone like they're standing still on a downhill only to have them pass you right back on the corresponding uphill.
