are you sure it's your weight and not your stride? I've noticed that when I overstride (i.e. applying the brakes) i can get the tread mill to do that.  it usually reminds me to shorten my stride and up the cadence a bit.

That is so true (The faster little guys)..  Also true on the stride.  I was trying to run faster than normal on the treadmill.  Thanks!

When, despite training for your first HIM, your BMI triggers the following printout in your after-care plan from the doctor's office.

Oh, and Bronchitis sucks!

Really, should you be encouraging a Triathlete with Bronchitis to exercise?

Everyone else is saying, "really, Eric, slow down. How many times do you need to get sick... blah.. blah... blah..."

My after care paperwork:

Becoming More Active

Almost any activity that gets you moving and strengthens your muscles is good for your health and can help move you towards your weight goal. Forty-five minutes of brisk exercise burns 250 to 350 calories. If you haven't been exercising regularly, start slowly and gradually increase how long, how often, and how hard you exercise.

* Aim for at least 30 to 60 minutes of activity on most days. The activity should be hard enough that you feel the effort but not so hard that you become out of breath. Walking is a good choice for many people.

* Exercising for several short periods that add up to 30 minutes helps just as much as exercising for 30 minutes at a time. You don't have to do it all at once.

* "Choose to move" whenever you can. Take the stairs rather than the elevator; take a walk instead of a coffee break. These are easy ways to be more active.

* Make it fun! Vary your activities or team up with a friend to help keep you going. Pick an activity you enjoy.

You may have other ideas of your own about how to be more active. Almost any activity counts!

I hear ya. I had routine blood tests done about 18 months ago and they came back perfect.

The doc said I wasn't diabetic or even close to being pre-diabetic and my cholesterol was as low as 4 (5 is good). He was actually looking at me then at the computer screen then back at me and shaking his head. I'm 5'11 and 230lb. He said it must be something in my genes.

Along these same lines...  I was on a rafting trip once with co-workers and one of them said, "How come they gave you such a small life jacket?"

My reply, It's the same size as everyone else's.....
