Just set up the new mentor thread.  I'll let y'all know when it goes live.

5K today fine -- 22 and change.  Decent run, but I know I can go faster.  Hoping its a bit warmer and less hilly next month.

The snow dash was the hilliest 5k course I think I've ever run.... Nice job though.

Rest day for me. I decided that Mondays will be my day off each week (at least during the winter months). This is my only quiet day this week, so I will be spending it giving my children all of my attention. We are going to ice sugar cookies this afternoon, and I'll probably do a Christmas craft or two with them as well. Like many of you, this week is filled with activities. One week until Christmas, and I am so excited I love this holiday. Anyway, have a great day everyone!

We have a lighted penguin that we put outside on the lawn for xmas.  I think we forgot last year because I don't remember the dogs making a fuss.  The Ridgeback was barking non stop the other day at it.  It took me a while to figure out what she was barking at.  So we took her outside to check it out and show her it was not alive.  She settled down.

Yesterday we were at Sears and they had a cute lighted abominable snowman on sale.  I had to have him.  So now the Ridgeback is barking at him.  It's funny.  (The other two dogs must be smarter, they could care less.)

I hope your cookie experience goes better than mine.  I was going to take the easy road and buy the tubes of pillsbury sugar cookie.  Tom started to harass me, saying I couldn't even make a simple sugar cookie.  (I was trying to save time, I can make cookies, or so I thought.)  So, I scrapped the tube idea and made a batch from scratch yesterday.  What a pain in the a$$.  Even though I chilled the dough for hours, it still stuck to the board and rolling pin.  By the time I was done, I was angry and covered in flour.  Never again!

And I still need to frost them today.

Oh, and I thought we had a penguin cookie cutter, but couldn't find it.  We have sharks, fish & dolphin shaped cookies.  How festive is that???

Well....I can't bake. I just can't. I'm a great cook, but I'm no baker. I think there is an art to it, and I can't figure it out. My mother makes fantastic baked goods, so she brought 8 dozen sugar cookies up this weekend, when she visited for Madge's birthday. I was left with the task of icing them. LOL I think I can handle it. We'll see...

So like I said Reagan and Cindy were baking while I was out riding 60+ yesterday.  Ummm these things are freaking dangerous.

Heading down to the basement to try out trainerroad.  I signed up at the discounted price, looked like a cool option for me since I don't have a powermeter.  It'll keep me honest I think, no slacking allowed.

I'm on vacation all week. =)

Tonight I have girls night out, and we go to Cheesecake Factory every December.  Tomorrow I have a lunch with some co-workers and my old boss.  Then tomorrow night it's my husband's xmas party at a pub.  I feel blah already thinking about all the fatty food. =(

Scott, those look good.  I don't typically like chocolate cookies, but those are gooey!  My ocean themed sugar cookies pale in comparison.

I'm generally just a chocolate chip cookie guy.  Those are a little crunchy on the outside and down right fudgy on the inside.  Soooooo good and really rich.

Kelly, fantastic job on the PR, especially in that cold.

I was supposed to do some trail maintenance yesterday on the local trails. That got nixed.  Wife had a minor surgery on Friday, and was wiped out all weekend, and no one to watch kids.  She had a lump on her neck under the chin area, and was starting to bother her for the past few months.  A couple doctors kind of ignored it.  Finally a specialist removed it.  Hopefully it is nothing and just a swollen lymphnode that never went down. I'll keep you posted.
