Steady 20-25 mph here in Austin today.  My 90-miler was as much mental training as physical.

The wind is my ally.  While others get bothered by it, I embrace it.

Whatever, I am sick of the wind. Yesterday was my first group ride after four years of being a loner. As if trying to keep the line wasn't hard enough.

it has been brutal. I had a "hill" training ride on my program saturday but I live in Missouri City and its flat as a pancake so I rode the hour inside my neighborhood where there are some long stretches. I decided I would just get in big gears to simulate hills. Well let me tell you it felt worse than hills going into a 20mph headwind in my biggest gears. Had a great ride but both knees were killing me yesterday.

Should of raced Galveston this past weekend.  20-25mph would of been a gift.  On the way out on the bike  the wind was consitently 30-40mph cross and in our face.  IT was brutal!

Yep, same here (and worse) in El Paso the last 2 weeks. It's been awful.

The wind felt great on the run yesterday in Galveston, though. Come to think of it, it felt pretty sweet on the bike as well.

Not so much in the water.

I used to cuss the wind myself. Then one day I started looking at the wind in an entirely different way. The more I train on my bike with the wind beating me down, the harder I'm training, and eventually will make me that much better. Just see the wind and a training tool.

I can't wait until this summer when the winds die down. I'll be passing people left and right! Well, I hope anyway...LOL

Then I am training like a champ, wind and hills.
