Swim Course PB: 16.26

Swimming out to the first buoy, easy and well paced.
Turn right and swim to the second buoy, where the hell is it?? Oh wait there it is, nope lost it again. Bloody swell! Got around it eventually, although I felt I was gonna get washed out to Rotto, I didn't know where my arse was pointing!

Coming back towards the beach, thinking to myself "Can't see shit, follow the bubbles in front of me, nice long line of swimmers, we'll get there eventually. Oh there's the sighting buoy 100m to my left, shit where am I? Am I still heading towards the beach? Well I'm right behind everyone else still, oh well at least I'm not alone".

I was glad when I finally hit the beach. I heard the commentator saying how a bunch of guys swam about an extra 100m, sounds about right.
What would you do differently?:

Well between the swell and the sun we literally couldn't see where we were going. I did feel quite good until that first buoy though.

Cycle Course PB: 41.18

Again felt reasonably strong for the first 2 laps, didn't get passed all that much which was comforting to know. The wind was terrible in places, was passing people at what felt like about 20km/hr.

Towards the end of the second lap I started to feel a pain behind my left knee which started to get worse as I moved on, so I thought I would just take it easy on the last lap, walk through transition out to the timing mats and thats what I did. A shame really because other than that I felt really good.
What would you do differently?:

Feeling fairly strong but need to pick up the distance for Busso.

Run Course PB: 23.10

Didn't run but just as well.
Post race
Warm down:

Went to the physio on site and he said it was a smart decision not to do the run with Busso 4 weeks out. Works out I was tight from my arse all the way down to my heel. He thinks it would have torn or at least strained for sure.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

My leg but off the the physio tomorrow, sure it will be right.

Event comments:

There is always next year but it was only a training session.

You made the right decision. Busso is way more important. I hope the physio can work his magic
