Pre-race routine:

FYI I am a terrible writer, so this is just a quick recap! :-)

Woke up and was actually not too tired. For some reason we did not leave on time so we rushed and got to T1 just before it closed. This race never starts on time plus we were in later waves so no rush. Did some stretching before the swim but nothing too major, got there too late to swim a few laps.

What would you do differently?:

besides swimming more push alittle bit.

Slow as hecking to try to put on a long sleeve shirt wet, wasted about 1 min getting clothes on.

Take a bottle and train.

Much quicker still not great, it had rained so shoes were wet and my bike shoes were soaked already.

Could really tell that I have not done any real bricks, legs were not ready for the run after the bike. Pace picked up once they got some blood in them and warmed up from the bike.
Post race
Warm down:

Picked up bike and changed clothes to watch ang finish. Was starting to rain more so just tried to stay warm.

Event comments:

3rd time at race, they had all kinds of things planned for after the race but the weather killed those plans. Still a fun early race. Only wish I could ride/run those hills everyday.

For no real training I was happy to only be off the pace by about 10 mins. Very happy to be that close.

Course: Indoor swim did laps over and back, only got passed by 1 person (good for me) I didn't swim hard just wanted to get a good swim and race in.

Course: Course was wet and hilly, I was bummed by my time until I saw the rest of the field (some fast people) were quite slow (for them). Did not want to blow up legs for the run so just gave about 75/80%

Course: Run on campus, Fun run as students were cheering at the halls. With the weather was nicer for them. Had my 1st drip of water 1mile into the run, was plenty as it was cold out.
