Swim
  • 07m 34s
  • 400 yards
  • 01m 53s / 100 yards
Comments:

Got stuck twice behind people in my lane who wouldn't stop at the end to let me past.
What would you do differently?:

Be more aggressive about making people let me past.
Transition 1
  • 01m 38s
Comments:

pretty good. Didn't get messed up in anything.
What would you do differently?:

no gloves for the bike. It's unnecessary faff.
Bike
  • 44m 48s
  • 12.43 miles
  • 16.65 mile/hr
Comments:

Pushed hard. Suffered getting off the bike, but really pleased with time.
What would you do differently?:

More aggressive on the corners. Got it right on the second lap, wussed out a bit on the first lap.
Transition 2
  • 00m 48s
Comments:

Minimum of messing around.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing right now. Pleased with it.
Run
  • 23m 54s
  • 2.82 miles
  • 08m 29s  min/mile
Comments:

Extremely stiff off the bike, so first lap was hard, then got very fatigued towards the end, so last lap was hard. Middle lap was okay...
What would you do differently?:

Just more training to try to maintain pace better into the 3rd lap...
Post race
Warm down:

Had a free massage.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Got stuck behind people in the swim.
Not enough training on the aero bars for the bike.
Just need to do more run training.

Event comments:

Didn't like the way the swim was organised. 4 swimmers in each lane with a 5 sec gap between each and no clear instructions on how to pass. I'm too nice, so I got stuck a lot. Slowed my swim considerably.

Also got started 5 seconds later than I should have, and they haven't adjusted my time, which has affected my ranking. This is a silly thing, but has annoyed me.

Otherwise a really well organised race, with incredibly friendly and helpful volunteers. Everything went extremely smoothly.

Great race, Rach!  That is the one drawback about pool swims... then again, I've never been kicked in the face in a pool swim ;-)  Looks like a great start to the season... good balance across the events.  On to the OLY!
