Total Time = 1h 39m 27s
Overall Rank = 479/1160
Age Group = Males 20-25
Age Group Rank = 19/39
Pre-race routine:

Ate oatmeal and drank a Gatorade before the race. Jogged for a few minute to warm up and stretched afterwards. I should have been alittle better prepared with my bike and shirt.
Swim
  • 30m 38s
  • 1375 yards
  • 02m 14s / 100 yards
Comments:

Poor navigation caused me to swim off-course slightly. Wasted time, but more importantly energy to get back on course. It was the first time I swam with a wetsuit, and it cut up my neck and back because it was alittle to large for me. I felt great during the swim but my time is alittle slow. The wetsuit made a huge difference in my bouyance.
What would you do differently?:

Place something on my neck before zipper up the suit. Hopefully that will prevent the irritation. Also, I need to navigate better and try to start alittle more in the pack since I can swim average now.
Transition 1
  • 03m 41s
Comments:

Pretty quick T1. Nothing make or break but I felt good after the swim and the bike started up quickly too.
What would you do differently?:

Not much.
Bike
  • 36m 25s
  • 9.3 miles
  • 15.32 mile/hr
Comments:

I started good and ended well. The steep climb around mile 4 killed me. I had to get off my bike and walk, and my legs/lungs were shot until the end.
What would you do differently?:

Don't push the climbs so hard in the beginning. I should have dropped down my gear and spun up instead of powering up.
Transition 2
  • 01m 27s
Comments:

Good transition. Tough to run across the entire parking lot and back again.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing
Run
  • 27m 18s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 08m 49s  min/mile
Comments:

I felt like I was doing alright. Nothing great or bad about the run. Pace down the hill was much faster than up the hill. Also, I had nothing left to try a spirit to the end, I kinda wish I had more gas in the tank.
What would you do differently?:

Nohing I can think of. Maybe try to fix my stride, but it was alright. I should just run faster. :)
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster:

My endurance level. I need to train for longer times since my average long training session is about 1 hour while these races take me 1:45 on average. My swimming should have been faster, but I rather save my legs for the other parts of the race.

Event comments:

Good race with lots of people. I wish I broke the 1:30 mark, but there is always next year.
