Comments: The beginning of this race is alway extremely crowded. The first mile is typically the slowest as you are making your way around people. I got into a groove at around mile 3. I felt good and my pace felt good. I kept it pretty consistent throughout. 5k was about 24:something, 10k 49:something, 10 mile 1:20:35. So I was a little over 8 min/mile pace. The last two miles were the toughest. My legs were starting to get sore and felt like they were going to cramp. I tried to drink plenty of fluids and keep my nutrition in check. The last 1/2 mile, my legs were jelly. I noticed this poor guy collapsed on the ground with medical professionals helping him. He was on a stretcher with an oxygen mask. He looked in bad shape. I felt soooo bad for him being so close to the finish. I hope he's o.k. I made it to the finish with a grimace on my face. That'll be a nice finish photo...LOL. I felt great about my time. Got a PR. What would you do differently?: Get to the race on time!!!!!!! Post race
Warm down: Recieved medal, drank chocolate milk, started shivering. Walked briskly to my car to get warm. What limited your ability to perform faster: Nothing really. I gave it all I got. Event comments: This is a very well run event. With over 40,000 participants, the event is incredibly organized. Last updated: 2010-10-29 12:00 AM

Up at 4:50am. Bagel and PB, and a cup of coffee. Bathroom. Uh Oh, running late. Out the door at 6:00am.
Traffic was a cluster f^%$!! Finally found parking at 7:00am. Run to the port o potties, wait for 20 minutes!!! Race to my corall with litterally 1 minute to spare. That was enough of a warm up. My HR was high. Ugh, not a good way to start my run. But at least I made it.
