Total Time = 1h 56m 1s
Overall Rank = /
Age Group = 40-44
Age Group Rank = 39/41
Pre-race routine:

Ate banana and Lean Body. Got to race early and walked the 'ins' & 'outs'.
Event warmup:

None.
Swim
  • 17m 1s
  • 547 yards
  • 03m 07s / 100 yards
Comments:

I did it! First OWS race and I was terrified. I really didn't know if I could make it, but I did! It is hard to do with people swimming over you! And, I breathed every other stroke, but I finished!
What would you do differently?:

Just need to work more on swimming. Need to work on stroke and swim more yards.
Transition 1
  • 02m 50s
Comments:

Need to use the Quick Lock laces. Actually, need to switch to clipless shoes!
What would you do differently?:

Dry off feet a little! My feet were 'swimming' in wet socks during the run.
Bike
  • 58m 25s
  • 15 miles
  • 15.41 mile/hr
Comments:

Fastest pace I've ever done!
What would you do differently?:

Just need to practice more!
Transition 2
  • 01m 6s
Comments:

No problems here. Ate a few honey stingers.
What would you do differently?:

Have honey stingers open better.
Run
  • 36m 45s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 11m 49s  min/mile
Comments:

Feet were really wet from swim. I walked about 1/3rd of race, but still set PR because I've recently changed my stride length! I felt totally beat, though. Possibly from hip problems during bike ride, too, or just because of tough swim & bike ride.
What would you do differently?:

Again, more practice! And, I need to learn to push more at the end. I was within a minute or so of 3 in my age group. I could see them, but I couldn't make myself run!
Post race
Warm down:

None.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Mainly just being new, fear of swim, and need more training!

Event comments:

The race wasn't near as friendly as my other triathlon. I don't think I'll do this one again.
