Event comments:

The course was really nicely laid out but extremely poorly organized. The top 5 finishers all were DQ'd as we didn't complete the run portion due to poor course marking and marshalling. I even asked a marshal where to go and she told me the wrong way!!! I will do this race next year just to see if they improve it but if disorganization continues I will not be there a 3rd time!!!

How frustrating for you!!! Awesome swim and bike times though! Did you actually get to swim or did you run most of it?

I did this tri with my mom (I let her set the pace and just stayed with her as this was her first) and last year I did the same with my mother-in-law. It's an awesome tri for a first timer but for anyone with experience it is extremely frustrating. Tri BC will not sanction the race and I have heard that the race director has a very bad reputation. They lost my race package this year!

I hope you had fun though - you did great! Are you going to do the Juan De Fuca Duathlon?

Yeah thanks a bunch, I ran about half of the swim and swam about half. I will be doing the duathlon at Juan de Fuca, have you done this before? It sounds like a good event. Speaking of the race director, I had heard the My first Tri's were extremely un-organized although, they are a good way for beginners to ease into the sport. I think I will do this event again next year to see if it improves, although they have a lot of work ahead of them to make this event better. Apparently the triathlon of compassion is a comparable event except it is much better organized.

Cheers,

Hey, that sounds not bad, is there a website for this event? Let me know as I would be interested in entering this race.

Cheers,
