Swim
Comments: not bad for my first swim. Took it easy on the beach start and waited until the end to start swimming. Only had a few incidents where I had to stop and tread water. I came around the last turn and there was a bottle neck and ended up swimming the wrong was for a few seconds. What would you do differently?: get it the water quicker, look up more especailly in crowded situations. Transition 1
Comments: Had number pinned to shirt. Shirt got hung up on wet body and the number got pulled off and I had to repin. Need more practice is cycling shoes. What would you do differently?: Bought a race belt to avoid pinning numbers on my clothes. Everytime I have a bike workout, I get better with my shoes. Bike
Comments: Bike went well. I would say it was my best performance on the bike yet. Race results have me at 17.1 MPH, but average according to 11 mile distance is about 15.7. There were some last minute changes to the course. Maybe the bike route was extended to 12 miles. All others' time was also based on a 12 mile course instead of the stated 11 miles. What would you do differently?: I would like to get some aerobars. The bike went well. I just need more practice on the road bike. Transition 2
Comments: I left my shoes on unitl the last second. I ride in my cycling shoes w/o socks, but like to have socks on when I run, so I took more time here then I needed to. What would you do differently?: I watched others and noticed that the more expierenced people were taking their feet out of clips, or feet all the way out of shoes and pedaling on top of them. I am currently working on this. Run
Comments: not bad here. I was pretty happy with my splits especially after the rest of the events. What would you do differently?: This will improve as I become a stronger runner. Post race
Warm down: walked around for a bit made sure to get food and drink in. What limited your ability to perform faster: I am overall happy with my performance. My performance was limited by lack of expierience and mainly just getting back into cardio activities. I feel like in the 6 weeks of training I did, that I was as ready as I could have been. Event comments: This was my first ever tri and everyone there was more than happy to lend a hand and give me some tips and tricks. The volunteers were great and a lot of help. I would recommend it to anyone that is new to tri's or just likes the sprint distance. Last updated: 2005-08-22 12:00 AM

Picked up packet night before. Arrived at race site 1.5 hours before start.
Picked a spot in the transisition area, laid out my towel and began stretching. I took a bike ride out of the transisition area explored the first part of the run course. I took a few sprints on the bike and returned to the transisition area. Stretched a bit more then went for a quick jog. Grabbed my goggles, put on some anti-fog and headed for the water 15 minutes before the start. Got in the water, swam some easy strokes and then a few sprints, just to get some jitters out.
