Pre-race routine:

Woke -up...Sports Drink and Bagel and Peanut Butter and Banana. Not normal food protocol due to being away. Stayed the night at friend's condo.
Event warmup:

Warmed up on Bike...drove 1 mile of the run course. And did about 100 yd warm- up swim.
Swim
  • 08m 17s
  • 480 yards
  • 01m 44s / 100 yards
Comments:

Started out way too fast..elvated heart rate and blew -up in swim..cold water was a factor but just worked way too hard..bad error...destroyed rest of the race for me...felt sluggish all day..don't know if its over training (end of huge Peak training block) or what but just didn't have it.
What would you do differently?:

Start slower even pace through out...do not allow myself to lose the race in the swim.
Transition 1
  • 02m 48s
Comments:

Aweful...worst ever transition in T2...could not get wet suit off ankles for the life of me...flat out tired after swim...hands were cold could not get grip of suit.
What would you do differently?:

Practice...practice...practice...easy on swim
Bike
  • 34m 42s
  • 12.5 miles
  • 21.61 mile/hr
Comments:

Swim killed the bike..felt tired and sluggish...nothing else to say
What would you do differently?:

Easy on swim.
Transition 2
  • 01m 11s
Comments:

Slow to transition..just felt slow mo
What would you do differently?:

Practice and easy on swim
Run
  • 25m 12s
  • 3.8 miles
  • 06m 38s  min/mile
Comments:

Slow worked way too hard for very little return...much slower than my half marathon pace..go figure...anyway this was pretty much the end of a very frustrating day.
What would you do differently?:

Easy Swim
Post race
Warm down:

Recovery drink and no stretch.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Poor swim and just felt tited with no energy...feels like over training...no energy and lack of motivation.

Event comments:

Overall very good sprint race this year...events on time..great buffet..more drink stations..well done
