  • Comments: Great event put on by a local company! Unfortunately, the weather affected me more than it probably should have. Despite that, I still had fun putting myself out there and giving it a shot. I’m looking forward to my next one at the end of August!

  • Comments: This was great for what it is, a local, independent race. not a ton of frills, but that's not why we do this. Tons of race options sprint tri, oly tri, aquabike, duathlon, and a kids race. the facility is great, with family activities, inexpensive lodging RIGHT AT transition, food, etc. A really nice time, and i'll likely for sure be back her next year. The only thing I'd recommend is maybe pushing the kids race back another 10 minutes. I was in the front half of the finishing Olympic racers and had to run right from my finish line to the kids race start line.

  • Comments: Overall I like this race and would do it again. Swag bag was a little weak though. Only a shirt and no other giveaways. Not even a Gel or drink mix. I finished 2nd in my AG (2 out of 16). Not sure if this qualifies me for nationals or not though. I need to find out.

  • Comments: The event was well organized (though I have nothing to compare it to since it was my first triathlon). After the race was nice: they had plenty of refreshments outside and inside there were warm drinks and fruit. The "goodie bag" that came at the beginning of the race had a lot of good stuff in it, the awards at the end were nice... I got a glass for finishing in the top 3 in my division!!! Though my division was only 4 people...

  • Comments: King Pine is good Sprint race..however it seemed to me that there were not enough aid stations, events ran over on time and the timing problems immediately post race were too many. In addtion, they compressed age groups arbitrarily when it came to giving out awards (I believe due to laziness)

  • Comments: I had a great time at this race..this was a first time event at a wonderful venue with USAT officials there,excellent race directors,scenic & safe course well thought out. Chip timing,finish line photographer, an expo, aid station, live music & BBQ, massage- all the perks on an "intimate" scale..and the resort is a family run & family/group friendly place in an idyllic setting.I stuck around for the kids race which was great fun to watch..& took home a live pine tree as my age group prize-now that's unique!!! Fabulous first timer or early season sprint-a Bt takeover would be BLAST..Would definitely do this race again and recommend it to others. And yes, gave me a great excuse for a solo Happy Dance !!
