Swim
Comments: This is my first Tri, so was most worried about the swim. First time in water with wetsuit on...wow this thing makes you feel like a torpedo..you could float your whole way around the course! Took some of the anxiety out of the swim portion but still had a bad swim. Last leg of course kept getting pushed/blown/current off line. What would you do differently?: Not as difficult as I thought but need to keep working on my swim. Getting out to OWS training should help. Transition 1
Comments: Transition area needs to have more space between bikes. Since I was one of the last swim legs, the T1 area had gear spread out everywhere. I used a 5 gal bucket to sit on and keep my gear in, so glad I could find everything. Just need to have less stuff as part of my transition bag. What would you do differently?: Just the essentials needed in transition. Bike
Comments: On exit of T1 had to wait for ambulance to clear before heading out on bike. Passed a lot of people going up the hills and only got passed by athletes on tri bikes. On entering T2 I left my shoes on the pedal but they dragged on ground. What would you do differently?: Next time just keep shoes on. Transition 2
Comments: Left shoes on bike, ran with socks to rack area but socks got wet and sandy. Had to clean off socks before putting on shoes. Bike rack full so tough to find space. What would you do differently?: Keep bike shoes on to avoid having to clean socks. Run
Comments: Run was good only wished we didnt have to run down the road that everyone was parked on. Rain the night before didn't allow people to park in the grass/field areas. 2 or 3 water stations was adequate. What would you do differently?: not much Post race
Warm down: drank water, gatorade, yogurt and a orange. Felt great afterwords and was satisfied with my effort. What limited your ability to perform faster: Did not have a chance to use the wetsuit or swim in open water. After Memorial Day should be able to swim in the surrounding lakes. Event comments: I would like to do this race every year. Good participation and Last updated: 2011-05-25 12:00 AM

Went for a 1 mile run and was able to get into the water about 20 minutes before my heat. Wished I had a chance to get on bike but transition area was closing so that first heats could start.
