Swim
Comments: Started off great, then took a kick to the goggles. Took a couple minutes to stop coughing up water and get the goggles back on. Settled in after the first turn and got pretty comfortable. Second lap much faster than the first. Felt like a good swim, but the time was fairly unimpressive. What would you do differently?: Take a longer warm up. Maybe a full lap. It takes me too long to get comfortable in the water. It might be time to buy a wetsuit. Transition 1
Comments: Smooth. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Bike
Comments: Passed a lot of people on the first lap. Not so many on the second. Slowed down to save energy for the run. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Transition 2
Comments: Good dismount. But then I somehow turned and ran to the left like I was going to enter T2 from the same side as you enter T1. But that's not how it was set up so I was basically running with the bike away from transition... How embarrassing! Once I got in transition everything went smoothly. What would you do differently?: Watch where I'm going. Pay attention. Run
Comments: Got passed by several out of T2. Picked up the pace once I saw how slow the first mile took. I find that it's really hard to judge pace coming off the bike. OK time considering the heat. Hard to get enough water. Might want to consider carrying a bottle next time. What would you do differently?: Not much. Post race
Warm down: Eat, drink, sit in the shade for a few. What limited your ability to perform faster: Slow swim start, going the wrong way into T2. Last updated: 2011-05-14 12:00 AM

Camped at the park. Not much sleep due to thunderstorms. Sat in the car until midnight, then into the tent to try to sleep on the damp ground. Up at 6 to get ready, then drive 15 min to the beach. Cliff bar, gatorade, and a banana on the way.
A couple of minutes each, bike, run, swim.
