Pre-race routine:

No sleep, picked up the gang right after getting off from night shift and drove up to Camp Pendleton. Arrived around 8AM.
Event warmup:

Duct taped shoes and headed to start line. Waited about 30 mins in the starting area...sun warmed us up.

Comments:

This was just a fun run with a group of 15 friends. I took it easy, since I had just found out that I'd be running the RnR Half Marathon. I was the camera guy for this event, so I would run ahead of everyone and take pics as they past by me.
Post race
Warm down:

Cold, outdoor shower to rinse of the all the mud, warmed up in the sun, ate a pulled pork sandwich.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

No sleep prior to the event, took it easy beacuse I was going to run in the RnR 13.1 the next day.

Event comments:

A great event to do with friends...all for fun, didn't not take it seriously, no time expectations...just wanted to get as muddy as possible, but avoid any freak injuries.@nd year in a row...will defintley go for a third year!

Performance: Good
Course: 10K course on the trails and fire roads of Camp Pendelton. A few uphills in the first 4 miles, but always followed by a generous down hill. Majority of the water and mud came in the last 2 miles. One muddy climb up suicide hill.
