Swim
Comments: The swim was not too bad, the water was calm and had a reasonable temperature. The only problem I had with the course was the huge amount of people. Swimming in a rectangle is not much fun either, I am a little more used to triangles which seem to go quicker. What would you do differently?: 3-stroke breathing instead of 2. Transition 1
Comments: Had problems with getting my shoes on correctly in T1 that probably cost me a good 20 seconds. I also had a problem getting my shirt on, which also probably cost me some time. I was able to get up to speed and onto the bike quickly however. What would you do differently?: Dry myself a little better to make it easier to get my shoes and shirt on. Bike
Comments: I worked what I thought was really hard, and it showed when I got to the run. This bike course was much more enjoyable than buckeye lake. What would you do differently?: Save a little bit of energy for the run. Transition 2
Comments: TA2 was good, and what took the most time for me was just changing shoes. My neighbor did throw his bike against mine so I had to knock his out of the way to get mine in. What would you do differently?: Nothing, I just need to work on changing sheos on the run in the future. Run
Comments: This run was hell for me. I was fighting shin splint pain as well as brick legs from hell due to the fact that I left all my energy out on the bike course. I walked much of the time for these reasons, and even after the race the pain was still pretty bad. What would you do differently?: Not run on bad shin splints. Post race
Warm down: Walked around a bit and had some energice and pasta. What limited your ability to perform faster: Sore muscles, shin splints.....overworking on the bike course..... Event comments: I should have known this race was going to be tough for me when I could not get to the race site due to heavy fog and detours. My swim and bike were not all that bad actually, but my run was a nightmare because of my legs. I am going to spend some time this off season avoiding running and spend more time on my swimming and strength. Last updated: 2005-03-11 12:00 AM

Wokeup, went down to the couch and had a cup of coffee while I watched the morning news. Gathered my bag and bike already to go from the night before and set out.
Short bike, short swim right before the start.
