Swim
Comments: It was a short course as you can see by the times but all in all without a warm up I am satisfied. What would you do differently?: Get a warm-up swim Transition 1
Comments: First time using a triathlon suit and wetsuit, it was nice not putting on clothing while still wet. Easy to get out of the wetsuit fast. Bike
Comments: My HR was out of this world and I was surprised how high it was out of transition (210-225) I'm not sure if it was my HR monitor, I replaced the batteries within a week. My HR returned to the 155-160 range after a few miles and I maintained a steady pace. Dominated people on the hills with my extensive gear range. What would you do differently?: Be a stronger biker Transition 2
Comments: It was the easiest transition I've ever had Run
Comments: This was a serious challenge after pushing hard, but not too much on the bike. I got blisters in two spots on both feet. Shoes were super hot too! What would you do differently?: Get different shoes, maybe sockless Post race
Warm down: walk around and get food/drink. Headed to the lake to cool down and do some stretching in non blister bearing environment. Followed by more nutrition and stretching What limited your ability to perform faster: Not having speed on the run and bike like I hoped Last updated: 2011-06-11 12:00 AM

I woke up at 5:15 and ate my normal breakfast, milk and cereal. Then on the way about an hour and a half before the race I had a banana and protein drink from odwala
I showed up 45 minutes early to pick up my packet and that was not enough time. I made sure to warm up and stretch my calf for the race but only got a short swim in before the race.
