Run
Comments: Tough. Legs tired, body sluggish.Did a 53 mile ride a week ago, as only my 4th ride outside, and hadn't biked at all for over 2 weeks. Was holding my own as far as my wave, and passed a couple from wave 1, but definitely not a stellar performance. Questioning a long course based on overall run times for top people.Quick sip of water after the hill. What would you do differently?: I really need to get consistent about training. Felt really thirsty and dry. Transition 1
Comments: couldn't get my right shoe on!! What would you do differently?: not much, was ok. Bike
Comments: 'eh ride. Im better with a bit longer ride. It takes my about 10 miles to get warmed up, and to start increasing my pace. Wind picked up off the lake for the ride. Passed by one girl (and some guys in later waves) in my wave, but I passed her near the end, and she didn't catch me on the run.Passed several girls and guys. I guess the ride was par for the distance. Saw kimmyk on the course (she was volunteering) !!! Got an eeeaaaww! What would you do differently?: do bike training, get my butt out the door, or at least on the trainer! Transition 2
Comments: good, ran out while putting hat on. Run
Comments: felt a bit better. pushed the last mile, so run 2 was negative split. What would you do differently?: train some hills Post race
Warm down: walked around, chatted with a few people What limited your ability to perform faster: felt dehydrated, long bike a week ago, (wasn't ready for it probably), very little training past few weeks. Stressful week, with unexpectdly having to shop for a new car (which I spent all Fri evening and Sat doing) I did push really hard though, mental effort was good. Event comments: ah well...wish I had raced a bit better, but happy that I was able to put strong mental effort in, even though the body was pretty sluggish. 10mile bike is just too short for me. Very happy, and surprised that I was able to win my age group, and come in 9th OA female! Last updated: 2011-06-01 12:00 AM

Up@ 6:00, out the door at 6:30 with blueberry poptart and diet pepsi.
To the site at 7:00, parked on side street right across from the site.
Sporting the Donkey top!
Saw KimmyK!! Two runs with few pickups, one @7:35 and one at 7:50. Felt sluggish. Beautiful out! (at least sunny, blue skies, calm at start) 55 degrees. Nice that this place had indoor toilets, they flush!!! Sweet!
