Subject: Base Training Plan for 1st Full IM So I finished my first 1/2 IM in 7/01 at Vineman in Cali! Very Cool!
Now, on to bigger and better things! I look at completing a full Ironman as one of the top achievements anyone could experience. The sense of accomplishment I felt crossing the line of the 1/2 can't come close to the sense I would imagine you feel hearing ... "you are an Ironman" after 13-16 hours (in my case...I think ). I also lost my Mother to Cancer and have seen it more than I care to think about in friends and family in the last 2 years (not to mention my family history ), so I plan on using my race in 2006 to raise money for Cancer Research.
So, as I start to think about training for next year, I am going to focus on my base starting now. Has anyone used or seen any kind of structured plans/theories on the base building phase for an Ironman?
Thanks,
