Total Time = 48m 25s
Overall Rank = 21/113
Age Group = M40-44
Age Group Rank = 3/9
Pre-race routine:

Same ol' same ol'. I like to keep things consistent on race day mornings.
Event warmup:

Didn't have time to warmup...got to the event a little late and had a mandatory pre-race meeting.
Swim
  • 12m 43s
  • 425 meters
  • 02m 59s / 100 meters
Comments:

I'm happy I wore my wetsuit as I might have drowned otherwise...seriously. It was way more intense than I had imagined it would be with people making contact, t-boning, etc.. I was gased big time at the end of the swim and had a hard time getting my heart rate down.
What would you do differently?:

Need more open water swimming experience, and more swimming in general.
Transition 1
  • 01m 43s
Comments:

Went relatively well given my lack of experience getting out of a wetsuit.
Bike
  • 22m 10s
  • 10 kms
  • 27.07 km/hr
Comments:

Based on my average HR and how my legs felt, I put all I had in the bike and it went well. The bike leg has never been a problem for me.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing.
Transition 2
  • 01m 5s
Comments:

Again, this went well and was probably my best transition time to date.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing.
Run
  • 10m 47s
  • 2 kms
  • 05m 23s  min/km
Comments:

Once again my run is not up to par. I simply can't believe that my run fitness with erode that badly after all the training this spring. I know I've been slacking lately, but I think it's also my weight that's slowing me down. I also need to keep practicing brick sessions...legs didn't feel right for the 1st km.
What would you do differently?:

Lose weight, run more, do more brick workouts.
Post race
Warm down:

Walk around, drink some water.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Lack of training, carrying extra weight.
