Swim
Comments: Decent swim...should have started towards the front because I had to swim breast stroke and tread water a bit in the beginning. The swim time also includes the run to T1, which is around 600 yards or so. What would you do differently?: Start at the front. Transition 1
Comments: Good transition, just took a long time to get there. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Bike
Comments: Good bike... almost felt like I could have gone a little harder to max it out. But very happy none the less. The faster swimmers were so far ahead of me that I couldn't catch a lot of them. Fun bike though... with so many participants I rode in the passing lane the whole time just passing people. Course was rough though, lost my lid to my aero bottle when I hit a rough patch. What would you do differently?: Nothing, loved it. Transition 2
Comments: Quads were tight so I took a few minutes to stretch, other than that pretty good. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Run
Comments: Started out easy, ran a 9 an 8, then a 7 minute mile. Probably could have pushed it a little more. It's much easier to run with crowds like that cheering. What would you do differently?: Go harder. Post race
Warm down: Walked the mile back to transition, took the fam out to breakfast. What limited your ability to perform faster: Nothing. Event comments: The race was good and I really enjoyed it. Had to wait over an hour to get back into the transition area to get my bike. For that reason alone, I will probably never do the race again. It was a good one to do once and say you've done it. Woke up at 3am after 4 sleepless hours. Drive from the suburbs to the race. Arrived 5am, checked in my gear at transition. Warm up only consisted of a run over to the swim start to check it out and then a run back. Walked to the start of the race and stood around for almost an hour.
