Who is in?  I am hoping my swim goes better than Eastman did.  I am only doing the internaional on Saturday so good luck to those doing the Lord of the Flies.

I am in and trying Lord of the Flies this year.  I did the TT and Oly last year.  Hard to believe it is only 3 weeks away.

I'm in for the International only.  I've been off running letting an Achilles heal, so hopefully I can get back on it since with three weeks left there's not much time.

How long is the swim at this?  The website says 1/4 mile but that seems impossible given the bike and run distances.

The swim is in a very small pond.  Even .25 miles is probably a stretch.

Yes, very short swim.  Calling this an international distance is a stretch.  I would call it a long sprint.

I might be in depending on how things progress the next few weeks.  Dealt with injury/sickness for much of late winter/early spring so I'm just getting back into the swing of things and my ultimate goal is Timberman...so we'll see.  I definitely want to do it, though, I heard so many good things about this race and the Lord of the Flies competition.

I am in (very) hopefully -- I've been nursing my Achilles since sprintig for the finish line in the Lexington 5 mile race on Patriot's Day and crashed my bike Sunday -- went over the handlebars and may have a rotator cuff injury!

I'm in for Lord of the Flies.  How is the time trial?  Can you actually warm up for it or anything?

Rhodes...you had a very solid race at Eastman!

Yeah, I would second this.  I think there is a pretty sweet current if you are one of the later people to go!

Count me in for the International.  Looking forward to cruising down the first half of the bike course.  Looks to be pretty gradual in both directions though, any surprises on the way back for those who have done it before?

You mean HAVEN'T done it I'm assuming?  Not much to speak of.  It's an out and back with a loop at the middle.  You go cruising almost entirely downhill and take a right to start that small loop.  Almost directly after you take that right there's a nice little uphill and it can get a bit crowded.  With the rain there was a crash right around there last year.

Thank you, the swim course was definitely shorter than last year though.  My bike and run did improve though which made me happy.

Let's pretend the Eastman swim was accurate and we're just wicked fast!  I echo that comment for your Eastman time - awesome bike especially.

It's a little depressing for me to think even if only BTers show up at Black Fly I still have no chance at the podium!  You guys are putting down some serious bike splits!

We should definitely plan to at least meet up Sat. either before or after the race.

It is almost here.  I will be driving up from Concord really early Saturday morning.  I think I should get on the tri bike again since I have only ridden it once over the past 2.5 weeks since Eastman, but I will be mtn biking again tonight because it is so much fun (and my A race is the Xterra Stoaked in Hanover).

Hi All- I am a newbie and will not be doing the Black Fly (doing the Mass. State Tri next weekend- anyone else going there?) but I wanted to wish all of my fellow Granite Staters good luck!  Looks to be a beautiful weekend for a race!  I hope to be in it next year!

I'm doing the sprint on Sunday. I'll be the old fat guy in the back of the pack in the turquoise t-shirt. Good luck and best wishes to all, esp. the Lord of the Fliers.

TT felt pretty good last night. The decent is a blast and the climb back up not as bad as I thought it would be. The last little incline did hurt, no ways about it.

Getting ready for the International and will leave in a couple of minutes. This will be interesting... I don't swim, so survival mode, bike run; that's my tri!

Hope legs feels ok for tomorrow Sprint.

That was a good time of suffering.  A few mistakes in the swim, but overall a good time.  That was my last road tri until September, time to get ready for the Xterra races in August.  Good job everyone.  I hope you had fun too.

Great weekend.  That time trial was a blast.  My first one....

You both beat me in the international.  The run did me in again!....I think Rhodes was drafting off me on the bike though....exact same speed....comes in 5 seconds behind me?  Fishy if you ask me Tongue out

Maybe I had a faster bike split and run, but both of you put lots of distance on me in the water... guess transitioning from a duathlete to a triathlete will take some time...

My triathlon... survive, bike run!
