Subject: PR'd in a 5k

I ran a local 5k on saturday and i ran a pace of 10 : 30 for the race, now, i know this is not real fast for most of you but for me .... well, lets just say it is the first time i ever paced below an 11 : 00 mile for anything running related. It was a flat course but i just wanted to pat myself on the back alittle anyway !!!Smile

Happy and safe 4th of July !!!

Great job!

I hope I can match you tommorow.  I'm running my first stand alone 5k since I started taking these things seriously.

I think the trick is finding a pace you can hold for the distance... at least that is what I'm telling myself.

Rock and roll.  I had a 5K PR last week so I know exactly how you feel—AMAZING!

And 10:30 m/m might be slower than some here, but it's your PR so congratulations.  (BTW, 10:30 is nothing to be ashamed of—I remember the joy last August of beating the 12:00 m/m mark for the first time.)

congrats.  Well deserved praise!!!

Don't short change yourself. Improvement is improvement and it takes work to achieve it no matter how fast you run!!.  Great job!

Great job!  Last year I was running my 5k at like 38 minutes.  Steady work and a sensible approach will lead to improvement you may be seting your sights on.  Keep it up... it is just as fun in year two (for me anyway)!

Good job on your pr.  I'm really happy for you!  I know you'll have more pr's to come soon, but I'm glad that Saturday's came in a race (always a good feeling).

Grats on your accomplishment! A PR is just that, 'Personal'; you improve yourself, you have a right to be happy about it! You better enjoy it while you can, you're gonna get better and better so it's going to be harder and harder to best yourself
