Total Time = 1h 22m 25s
Overall Rank = 265/370
Age Group = 30-34
Age Group Rank = 14/17
Pre-race routine:

I got very nervous and spent most of the morning figeting.
Swim
  • 8h 05m
  • 440 yards
  • 1h 50m 14s / 100 yards
Comments:

I swam very well. Started at the front of wave 4. Passed a few people but the dark water meant bringing my head up more than I wanted to.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing
Transition 1
  • 01m 42s
Comments:

Stayed in the same suit so no disrobing. Washed my feet in a rinse bucked, slid into bike shoes (no socks), got glasses, helmet and even took a GU (apple cinnamon). Ran through the timer and mounted easily. Fett clipped in no problem and pedaled away.
What would you do differently?:

Take the GU on the road
Bike
  • 36m 32s
  • 11 miles
  • 18.07 mile/hr
Comments:

For me it was a fast pace on the bike at 18.1 mph. It was a flat course so I could have pushed more.
What would you do differently?:

Drink more on the ride, take another GU, push it a little more.
Transition 2
  • 01m 29s
Comments:

I couldn't get my bike back on the rack. I hooked it by 1 handle. I took the time for running socks. No visor or glasses.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing
Run
  • 34m 37s
  • 3 miles
  • 11m 32s  min/mile
Comments:

Horrible run. People passed me left and right. I felt like lead, cramped up but pushed through to the end.
What would you do differently?:

Run more in training.
Post race
Warm down:

Waled around in a daze. I was confused , tired and felt like the walking dead. Drank a cup of water, 2 cups of gatorade, and a lemonade.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

My run. I was very unprepared.

Event comments:

I'll be there next year!

Congratulations!  I was there too and finished a minute and a half behind you.  I couldn't believe how shallow the lake was.  I'm pretty tall and at one point I was hitting the gunk on the bottom.  I looked up expecting to be at the end of the swim and I was still quite a ways out.  It was a great race and I'll be back next year too.
