Total Time = 1h 41m 31s
Overall Rank = 528/1451
Age Group = 25-29
Age Group Rank = 33/128
Pre-race routine:

Early morning breakfast of cereal and OJ. I also drank some gaterade/water while setting up in transition amd took a carb-boom 30 minutes before wave start.
Event warmup:

Running from the restrooms to the starting line.
Swim
  • 17m 39s
  • 875 yards
  • 02m 01s / 100 yards
Comments:

I felt really good during the swim. I started in the second row which I think was about right for me. The first 200m was a bit rough but no one swam over me. I wish I could say that I swam over no one but I did.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing that I can think of.
Transition 1
  • 03m 21s
Comments:

As soon as I got to transition, a girl about three bikes down knocked down her bike, and the next three bikes including mine. I had to search for my helmet, gloves, and sunglasses but besides for that all went well. My wetsuit came off without a problem and I felt calm.
What would you do differently?:

Not park my bike next to a clumsy girl :) No really, maybe try and run to the transition a bit more. I currently vary between a quick walk and a slow jog.
Bike
  • 47m 27s
  • 14 miles
  • 17.70 mile/hr
Comments:

The bike felt good. I felt strong going up the hills (overpasses)and didn't let the small amount of wind I encountered slow my place. Most of the course was not too crowded but I was "accentured" coming up the last overpass into transition. I was coming up at a good pace and was forced to stop due to 4-5 mountain bikers riding side by side and taking up the whole lane.
What would you do differently?:

Not much. Just ride more to increase my speed!!
Transition 2
  • 02m 5s
Comments:

No big shakes. In T2 and then out on the run.
Run
  • 30m 56s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 09m 57s  min/mile
Comments:

I am still recovering from plantar fasciitis so this was the first time in over a month I have actually run on pavement. I felt great until about mile 1.75 when the foot started to hurt. My mile splits were a little low but I did not want to push it too hard.
What would you do differently?:

Hopefully, I will fully recover from my injury and get back to running strong.
Post race
Warm down:

Some walking, stretching and ice for the foot.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

My foot injury.
