Subject: Good Trail Runs?

Hi guys! Stake and I moved to CO this past year -- we're just south of the tech center in Castle Pines (I know, I know).

Anyone have a good recommendation for some not-too-horrible trail runs? Looking for anywhere from 3-7 miles ideally, but I'll out and back something if I need to.

Castlewood Canyon State Park has some great trails. It would be really close for you so I would definitely give it a try.

There's also a great trail in Castle Rock (Meadows neighborhood) called Ridgeline Open Space trail.  You'll be blown away that you're in the middle of a housing development:

Highlands Ranch has a couple of openspace trail networks, and Bluffs Regional Park south of Lone Tree has a very hilly loop with some spurs.  Also, the Douglas County East-West trail connects the above systems as well, several lots to choose from as far as parking goes...

Castlewood, Castle Rock and HR are all good recommendations.  Another trail that has not been mentioned is Greenland.  It's right off I-25 around Larkspur/Palmer Lake.  More info, check Douglas County open Space

We haven't lived in the Denver are for a few years but when we were in Highlands Ranch I used to head out to Roxborough State Park. They had some fun trail runs and if you headed out early, or in the spring, fall or winter it wasn't hot and there weren't a lot of users you had to avoid. The other fun quick after work run was the single track that runs along the west side of the S. Platte River in Chatfield (near the gravel pond). You could hook it up with some additional exposed trails and get in a quick 6 mile loop after a quick ride in the Park.
