Transition 1
Comments: Walk up the trail from the beach to the bike. No wetsuit so no difficulty removing it. Dried off feet, put on socks and running shoes and a T-shirt. Bike
Comments: I was riding my mountain bike (there were a few of us not on road bikes), so I wasn't too disappointed with my ride. I was ready for the ride to be over 3-4 miles before it was. Tried to be diligent about using lower gears and higher cadence. What would you do differently?: Now have a road bike :-) Transition 2
Comments: No hurry, my legs were stiff. Run
Comments: Um..."Run" was optimistic. Jogged some, walked up a couple of hills and for a minute near the end. Race started at 9, so by now, the sun is out and it is getting very warm. What would you do differently?: More bricks during training. Post race
Warm down: Walk around, stretch, about 15 minutes. Drink water, drink water, drink water. Event comments: It was a good introduction to the sport. Not too crowded for the swim and very supportive volunteers and participants. Last updated: 2005-09-09 12:00 AM

Load bike in car. Drive to site using "shortcut" even though I've never been to the site before and rarely get out that way.
Very light breakfast. Coffee, banana, I know I ate more, but can't remember what.
Oogle the fancy bikes.
Stretched a few minutes. Got in the water and swam 100 yards.
