Event warmup:

Couple hundred yards of swimming and some stretching.
Swim
  • 12m 16s
  • 600 yards
  • 02m 02s / 100 yards
Comments:

Swimming contiunes to be a struggle for me but it seems to be getting a little better. The course seems to be getting a little longer with each race in the series. Many people agree with me Sunday that the course seemed to be considerably longer than it was a few weeks ago.
What would you do differently?:

Continue to train hard on the swim.
Transition 1
  • 01m 40s
Comments:

Smooth transition but the heat was already on the way up. Took a few extra seconds to drink a little more water before taking off with the bike.
Bike
  • 32m 17s
  • 11.8 miles
  • 21.93 mile/hr
Comments:

Never felt like I every really got my legs going. It wasn't terrible for me but I feel like I should have been able to go a lot faster with all the bike training I've put in the last few weeks. Especially with the course being shorten, I should have been able to push up to around 22 or 23 mph average.
What would you do differently?:

Not sure? Don't really know what was holding me back.
Transition 2
  • 00m 56s
Comments:

Little Trouble getting the bike on the rack the first time.
Run
  • 32m 33s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 10m 28s  min/mile
Comments:

The heat was brutal. Thank God for shade along the run because when you got in the sun, it was terrible. But that being said, there is no excuse for sorry amount of run training. The heat took a good bit out of me but with the little bit of training I've been doing on the run, there wasn't much to take out.
What would you do differently?:

Train more!
Post race
Warm down:

Grabbed some water and jumped back in the pond to cool down. It is nice to be able to cross the finish line and get straight in the cool water.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Heat and lack of run training.

Yes, the heat on the run WAS brutal.

Thanks for confirming that the bike leg was short -- this was my first time doing the race (which I loved), and didn't realize that the course had been cut short.
