Swim
  • 17m 14s
  • 880 yards
  • 01m 58s / 100 yards
Comments:

had difficulty maintaining endurance on the middle 1/3 of the course, had to switch back and forth to breaststroke. real goof ont he first and last parts.
What would you do differently?:

Not start as fast ease into the distance. This was the worst of my swims in this my first season.
Transition 1
  • 02m 29s
Comments:

Long run up about 25 stairs from beach up to T1. Dropped goggles and cap as I was pulling off suit.
What would you do differently?:

Need to figure out way to dry feet quicker.
Bike
  • 59m 8s
  • 18 miles
  • 18.26 mile/hr
Comments:

Front derailer broke at mile nine. Sarted rubbing on the big crank gear. Had to stop and try to figure it out, lost about 4 or 5 minutes - Bummer! Rode the rest of the race in gear 1-4, with the hill at least it was not 7-10!
What would you do differently?:

Not break bike!
Transition 2
  • 01m 42s
Comments:

Good T2 for me.
What would you do differently?:

Learn to ride on top of shoes
Run
  • 46m 10s
  • 5 miles
  • 09m 14s  min/mile
Comments:

Felt better than pace reflects - I'll say it was the hills, lots of rolling hills.

Great kick up the last hill to the finish, don't know where it came from.
What would you do differently?:

Run more hills in training
Post race
Warm down:

Walked it off.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Heat and hills

Event comments:

Great race, super courses and distance - cannot wait for next year.

I would like to see more races provide more post-race snacks or foods. Also, how about some freebies in the race packet. I help w/ several running races and we always have samples drinks, snacks, products in the pre or post race goodie bag. Just my 2-cents worth.

Nice job, Scott. I was there too - in the same AG. I'll post my results soon.

Sorry to hear about the mech difficulties. It could be worse though. As I was heading out on the run I saw a guy carrying his frame in one hand, two wheels in the other, and a HUGE shoulder scrape - No good!!

Maybe we'll see each other at a race next year.
